North and South Kinsman:
Trails: Basin-Cascade Trail, Cascade Brook Trail, Kinsman Pond Trail, Kinsman Ridge Trail,

Trail Conditions: The Basin Cascade and Cascade Brook Trails were in great shape. The water crossings are pretty solid but someone did break through the final/first crossing prior to our final descent. These trails were a combination of packed and loose powder with very little ice below the snow. From the Kinsman Pond Trail and Kinsman Ridge trail on the trail was good to excellent. Some postholes were present and despite a ton of barebooters the trail is in good shape. Some steeper areas are icy and require some care. All areas of ice had at least some snow over them. The conditions may be less favorable now due to a lot of foot traffic today.

Special Equipment Required: Three of us wore snowshoes the whole time while one member of our group wore microspikes. I would advise people to wear snowshoes in the interest of preserving the packed powder areas of the trail. Therefore snowshoes or light traction are necessary due to the icy sections beyond the Kinsman Pond Shelter.

Comments: The snow flurries and heavy clouds offered no views while we were on the summits but it was still a picturesque and beautiful hike. The Cascade Brook itself offered many spectacular sights. A big thanks to Dehydrator, Gary, and Alla :)
