Jenifer and myself hike up Mt. Flume and Mt. Liberty on 7/4/07. We had an excellent day. We took the Whitehouse Tr., Liberty Springs Tr., Flume Slide Tr., Franconia Ridge Tr. After the two summits, we continued on the Franconia Ridge Tr. to the Liberty Springs Tr. back to the Whitehouse Tr. to the Flume parking lot.

Going up the Flume Slide Tr. was probably the hardest hike that we have ever done. The boulders were wet in spots and it was hard to follow the trail up higher. It was also challenging to find safe spots to hike up. We were happy when we made it to Mt. Flume.

After having lunch on Flume, we headed over to Mt. Liberty. Seeing Liberty from Flume looked like a long ways away. It seemed like a walk in the park going to Mt. Liberty. Before we knew it, we were on the summit. It was much windier on Liberty. We hung out for a few minutes and headed down.

By the time we got back to our car, there was a dark cloud coming over the Franconia’s. By the time we left, it started to pour.

Oh, did I mention that we had an excellent day?
