I'm sure desperation can lead to some unique thoughts, but I honestly doubt I would have come up with this.

I know there are very few 'firsts' left in this world, but has anyone ever heard of someone using power disruption as an emergency distress call before?

There was the woman who tied her sports bra to the cable car cable a year or two back. It's not a bad idea, all things considered. I have a buddy who works for a power company. Cartographer who deals with helping them locate outages. It will send somebody running, that's for certain!
