Adirondack Pictures/Trip Report
Here are pictures from my last two High Peaks trips, one in April and one this past weekend.
In April we climbed Cascade and Porter one day, hiked into Avalanche Pass another, and climbed Noonmark the third.
This time we did the Trap Dike on Mt. Colden after an abortive attempt at hiking into Panther Gorge (someone, cough cough, forgot the fuel). We're heading back again in two weeks to try our Panther Gorge Trip. The Trap Dike was great until we missed the exit slide and ended up doing a 3 hr bushwhack to the summit. DONOT make our mistake. It is very thick. We found a broken crampon, shredded jacket, and bootprints along the way so we weren't the first people the make that mistake. We also found ice hanging in the dike and hanging from a cliff during the bushwhack.
On the way home we stopped at the Upper Works and walked around the Ghost Town, the MacIntyre Furnace, and the NL Industries Mine. Pics of the first two will be coming soon.
