Its that time of year again when the annual canoe and kayak trek along the length of the Andro is occuring. Like last year, it is not a continuous event but does run 4 days a week for 3 weeks in a row starting July 6th. For details check out www.androscogginriver.org.

The treks are usually 8 to 9 miles long and usually have some sort of activity at lunch (I am curious that Gritty's, a brew pub, is running one of the lunches in Lewiston Me). They usually have a naturalist of some sort along for each day's paddle. These events are usually good for families or people new to the sport. Just check on the sections, as at least some have whitewater.

No charge but they usually sell raffle tickets and T-shirts.
