plan was climbing blake slide, but instead took direct route up old brook, mostly dry direct to top of blake. must be really nice up there when there is water flowing. found some cut log jams along the way up the brook.
made great time until the last tenth of a mile, took an hour. very steep, some real nice cliffs and boulders. some thick cedar up near top, but not a bad way up. made it to the top, went over to colvin, and back to Blake by 12:15, stayed till 1, then started our 9 mile hike out over the pinnacle. very little rain around noon, under the clouds so we had some views, but for some reason couldn't see the tops of the mts.!!
Sunny is now at 92 of the 100!!

check my site for pics.

Yay for Sunny! That's one hardcore bushwackin' dawg!

Nice report, Brian! Didn't know you were on Blake or I'd have waived from Nippletop.

It was neat how the clouds just cut the very tops off the Great Range that day, wasn't it??
