Four of the BMTs got together for this perfect day in the mountains.

Conditions: Consolidated packed powder up to Warden's Cabin then unpacked 18" in drifts up the initial steeper summit cone giving way to a skim coat of ice on rock on the more moderate approach to the summit .

Equiptment: Denalis from the lot to the summit.
No crampons or ice axe needed tho we carried both as we heard the cone was solid ice ......which attracted us in the first place.

Trail: One massive, humongous, 90 foot high ( when it was up) 2.5 foot thick blowdown with an easy go around.
This trail is gracefully laid out with moderate grades leading to spruce alleys and curvy, open ledges... after the upper jct. with the ski trail. The summit cone is like an ice cream sundae for a mountaineer. Pick your line ...pick your grade.

Climbing with Eagle, Loon and Puma again was like one body with four legs in perfect balance and rythmn. The "new" laid back pace suited the perfect 15 degree day and even the 20- 30 mph breeze on the summit cone felt warm.
This mountain is always a star!
