After a stay at Subsig the night before, we got an early start up Carrigain via Signal Ridge. All the streams were flowing well, with only one big crossing, that could still be traversed via stones without getting feet wet. One of our crew decided not to risk it and took boots off and waded.

The trail is in beautiful condition, and although both Saturday and Sunday saw views limited by clouds and heavy smog, we were able to have a long lunch on the tower under fairly warm conditions. Both days were muggy.

Met two groups of two each that had spent Saturday night backpacking someone up on the mountain.

Good stuff B. How was the flat stretch before the elevation gain... a muddy bog?

With all the rain the past week, and more this week... I'm wondering if the Whiteface Brook is gonna be roaring/unpassable. Anyone been up more recently?

Actually, no! It was fine. The ground was firm, no standing water. A bit wet here or there on the trail, but nothing worth mentioning.

Of course, if it rains every day until the weekend...
