Date of Hike: 2/7/09

Trails: Imp (south), North Carter, Carter-Moriah, Carter Dome, 19 Mile

Trail Conditions: Broken out some sections more than others

Special Equipment: Snowshoes

Comments: Imp Trail was not broken until the Camp Dogde cutoff, so this was out obligatory trail breaking for the day. Imp looping to Face looked to be lightly broken but no idea how far this would last if even to the Face. From here on, the trails were broken out, besides near the Dome where snow was blowing back in. Oh yeah, when we went over to North Carter, this also was not broken. I have no idea why... the best views of the 3 Carters are from North, why do lists (other than T72) drive people to foolishly skip good peaks??

Also added the short thrash to Lethe, also with excellent views. Skipped Hight due to high winds and zero visibility. Hight appeared to be broken but I am sure was drifted over in open spots higher up. Black Angel trail did not look to have seen any activity. Rainbow trail also appeared unused in a long while. Sledded from the Dome into Carter Notch. Not recommended to sled below the cliffs, this really was too steep. 19 mile very easy as is usual. Wanted to tack on the Wildcats but the hour was too late and winds were increasing.
