December 10, 2016 myself and a friend headed out and did Cascade and Porter. It was 10 degrees at the beginning of the hike and when we finished it was 18 degrees. It was snowing for the first 30 min of so and then the sun finally came out. We got to the parking lot just in time, (8:15-830) before a bunch of other cars came and tried to park. Microspikes used all the way to the top of Cascade. We ate lunch below the summit and threw our snowshoes on there. We then headed over to Porter, which seems like many people do not do. We came back down with the snowshoes on and then used them until it was more of a hassle and swapped back over to spikes.
We got some amazing views with the sky would clear up and there were many people out on the trails. My hiking buddy counted the amount of people who were signed in when we ended and she counted 60!!! Well all in all it was a good day.
