Durand Road is under major reconstruction in two locations on the road. The contractor is blocking the road on either the west end or the east end almost daily. RIght now they are working on the west end so the road is blocked near Lowes. They will be working on the East end intermittently. The road is posted no through traffic. The barricade on the East end is at the former Ravine Lodge site near the town pool. The road is open from the east end up to this point and may be open past the barricade (if the road closed sign is not in place). There is no good indication from RT 2 if the East end past the barricade is open or closed. The only hiking trail directly impacted by the closures is the Sargent Path up to Lookout Ledge and possibly the Vyron D Lowe trail. This work is scheduled to go on until October.
