Parked at the train, then we walked down the road up to Clinton Rd. Two cars were parked there, just in front of the No parking sign, but we didn't want to take the chance to get our car towed away.

Then, we walked along the snowmobile trail (Clinton Rd) up to the trailhead, finally! The trail was not packed down completely: There was a little anoying crust on the top. Snowshoes were mandatory!

Near the top, were the trail goes around Eisenhower, before the junction with Crawford Path, it was not easy going at all: The trail goes perpendicular to a 45 degrees slope, in powdery not-packed snow. It was really hard, with our snowshoes, to go through without sliding on the side, since it was not packed down. We finally turned around at about .25 miles before the junction. We could have used the crampons, but we would have get snow up to the knees, it was too powdery. We were disapointed, it is a bit frustrating to turn around that near of the summit, when the weather is perfect! Anyway, better turn around then be dead at the bottom of a slide!

Trail Conditions: Crust, powdery snow higher.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes essential. MSR type, with crampons on the side, would have been better than our GV ones.

Comments: We will come back!
