Date of Hike: Saturday, September 14th
Trails: Lincoln Woods, Osseo, Franconia Ridge
Trail Conditions: For those familiar with these trails they are in great shape. For new hikers unfamiliar with these trails, Lincoln Woods to the Osseo Trail Junction is a nice 1.4 flat walk through an old railroad corridor with some railroad ties along the way. The Osseo Trail is 4.1 miles with easy to moderate grades for most of it's length with a short steep burst up ladder steps with a nice 'downlook' in the middle of this steep section with great views into the Pemigewasset Wilderness. For the most part the Osseo Trail has good footing on a very well maintained trail. The Franconia Ridge Trail between Flume Mountain and Mount Liberty, 1.2 miles, is in good shape, the trail drops a decent amount of elevation between peaks and there is some rougher footing near the summit cones (loose rocks and roots) but for most of it's length it's fine. All trails are easy to follow.
Comments: A great way to Hike Flume if you're just looking to do that summit and don't want to deal with the Flume Slide. Joined in on Flags on the 48 with Hike-NH. A great group to hike with and was happy to help out. Pics / Report
