has anyone ever been to the Fourth Connecticut Lake up in Pittsburg?
I am looking for the GPS coordinates for the Benchmark there.

That is not a bench mark. That is a boundary line marker. I can't read from your picture, but there will be a number on it. The trail leaves the boundary line to the lake somewhere between boundary monument 484 (the double monument at Route 3) and monument 485. My best guess would be somewhere between line marker 484.14 and 484.18.

The coordinates are all listed on the IBC web site: IBC coordinates - Highlands
(these are the coordinates for the Highlands which includes this section.)

Here's my map for #484.15 which is my guess based on what I remember from the terrain (just before a rise in elevation of the boundary). Click on the box at the top of the map "Toggle Nearby Stations" and you'll see the others nearby. There's one for every place the line changes direction.

My map: Map for 484.15, 484.16 might also be a possibility: Map for 484.16.

Better yet, blow up that photo and read the number.

Thanks for the info. (I had a feeling it would be you ;) )

I tried to enlarge the image, but couldn't read it.
