Never spent much time in the Adirondacks this time of year.

Does anyone know what the lake conditions are like? Are they frozen over by now? I'm guessing they are.

If so, when would you say they'll thaw out? I'm sure it varies little bit each year but with the winter so mild on Long Island (I understand I'm south by 4 degrees latitude), was wondering what the water/ice is like this year in the Adirondacks (Lows Lake, Little Tupper, Lake Lila...).

Reason being...hoping to put a trip together for early April.

Thanks.

Ice out

Saw no one replied yet so here goes. As of 3/23 - The Hudson river is clear up past Glens Falls. The Mohawk river N. of Albany is still solid even with recent warm weather and rain. All the lakes in Saratoga county are still frozen (perhaps not thick). Based on that, I would guess that we will have probably 2-3 weeks at least of ice on higher ADK lakes.

I normally don't plan on paddling lakes until near the end of April. Rivers are open earlier.
