The easiest solution to my footwear dillema for this weekend would be to get some mountaineering boots at EMS or KTP or the like a night before I go hiking. That way I wouldn't have to worry about being able to get to a trailhead on time.
Anyone know if any place not too far from Portsmouth rents plastic double boots?
I've only hiked in my backpacking boots in the snow in temps slightly below 20 and I understand that saturday and sunday are going to be very cold. I'm thinking I'll probably need plastic boots if I expect my feet to not fall off. Is that likely to be true?
