I fully agree with you, give then layout of the parkway in that area is a major accident waiting to happen. The speed limit is 40 MPH but traffic routinely goes through there at 65 MPH. One tourist parked on the side of the road, stepping into traffic at the wrong time could lead to chain reaction crash. At least they put the raised berm in the middle of the road at the entrances to keep folks from parking in the center of the road and to reduce people illegally cutting across the median strip.
