After many attempts to join VFTT, one call from Alan Via and with help from Dave M. we are on the forum. Thanks all. We are working on the New England 100 Highest and on Thursday we drove 380 miles to Burlington, Vermont and stayed at a cushy motel. Friday morning we drove 85 miles north, almost to Canada to hike Jay and Big Jay. In the parking area there were 4 cars, each from a different state. We hiked up and hit the summit with views all around. There is a nice little ridge walk right to the summit building. We then hiked down a bit and found a nice herd path over to Big Jay, which is actually smaller than Jay. We met another couple just below the summit. We then found the summit jar and signed a slip of paper just below the other couples names. The canister is gone but the bracket remains. We then walked back over to Jay and stayed for 45 minutes talking with people who took the ski tram up. This hike put us at 88/100 with another hike planned for tomorrow.
