Trails - LT north from Rt 242 and the "illegally cut" herd path over to Big Jay.
Conditions - LT was dry with good footing. Herd path was also relatively dry, with some muddy spots which were easily avoided. A few blowdowns on herd path which is how it should be.
Comments - Around 4 hours for this short hike. Nice views from the summit of Jay Peak on a hot sunny day. Wouldn't want to do Big Jay after a wet spell, it looked like it could get nasty. Found the cannister mounting bracket on the tree with the cannister missing. Also noted that someone had hung up a ski rescue sled nearby! Not sure what thats all about.
