Trail started out in spots damp and had a few patches of mud. Towards the top, there were more wet sections, but not nearly as bad or as slippery as it was when we were on this trail on June 25th. On the ascent the bugs were few and far between; but towards the top and on the descent the black flies were definitely out. The sun was playing hide and seek with us all day; mostly seek. There were lots of clouds and hazy views, but you could still get a good view once we got out above tree line. The top of the mountain was full of a lot of hikers, and again, a lot of black flies. Almost no breeze at all, and pretty warm at the top. Mt. Washington stayed in the clouds all day, but the other peaks in the area were mostly cloud free. Another great hiking day in the Whites!
