This was the first winter outing for Spaderman, The Great Pumpkin, Creaky Knees & Mark (trail name to be assigned at a later date). Working on the NE 4000.

Trail conditions: Bucklin Trail off Wheelerville Road at Brewers Corner was well packed out from the trail head to the top of Killington Peak. Around Cooper Lodge, the trail was a little confusing to follow as there is a ski trail coming in around the back of the lodge. The Bucklin Trail continues up thru the woods to the right of the lodge. The last 0.1 mile to the top is steep & needs to be done with care both up & down.

Equipment: Used snowshoes the entire trip. Had microspikes but never used them. Poles handy for us "senior" hikers.

General Info: Snow coverage is good all the way to the top. First 1.2 mile to the 2nd bridge crossing has several open small runoff streams all easily crossed. Weather could not have been better for the hike. Winds about 15-20 mph on top but no winds elsewhere on the trail.
