We started out in microspikes/barebooting up to Lonesome Lake where us two non-skiiers switched to snowshoes and our friend Alan continued skinning up. Fish n Jimmy was in great shape and probably could be barebooted but we were short on time and felt like we could boogie a little faster in snowshoes. There was one ice bulge halfway up that required a bit of a reach to get a handhold but could still be ascended in snowshoes. More of the same in terms of trail conditions over to South Kinsman. There was a solid undercast today but still some nice views to be had under 5k feet especially when the afternoon snow showers started. Alan continued on to Canon on skis but we headed down since we were real short on time. Thanks Alan and Aaluk for a fun and quick hike.
