Barebooted up Lowe's Path to to a full house at Grey Knob on Saturday the 16th- stayed at the Crag Camp, awoke to a beautiful day with beautiful views from the porch toward King Ravine and Madison.
Snowshoed up Spur Trail toward Gulfside (not sure I was on Trail after treeline) cut over to MAdison Hut, dropped pack for trip up Madison, then tried to 'shoe up snowfield west of JQ path to Adams summit, but ended up closer to Thunderstorm J.
Back down over adams 4 to to Grey Knob to eat lunch and retrieve glove, then a slippery descent back to Lowe's store.
Wore snowshoes, softshell with pit-zips open and liner gloves all day. Crampons not needed.
Warm and little wind, snow ranged from slightly crusty around tree-line to hard on gulfside approaching Madison, to soft descending down Lowe's Path in the trees.
Many VFTT ers at MAdison Hut.
