Trail Conditions: Mostly slush to gravel to watery ice on the Stony Brook Trail. The open ledges on the Carter Moriah trail had a thick ice coat in most places. In the trees, it was a mix of standing or running water or 3-4" of wet snow. Altogether it was a little of everything (except deep snow). Water crossings were fine, easy enough to rock hop, but they were running strong.

Special Equipment Required: Used micros on the way up and switched to a new pair of Hillsounds at the summit for the hike down just to try them out. The open ledges were solidly iced and both (micro's & Hillsounds) seemed to handle it just fine. It looks like it was all rain/freezing-rain on the mountain last night; the Mt. Washington observatory reported freezing rain & sleet last night also. So, I can't imagine using snowshoes anywhere nearby.

Comments: Wet! But with the cold air tonite the trails should be competely ice by tomorrow.
