Date of hike: 5/16/2009
Special Equipment needed: Poles very helpful for the brook crossings.
Trail Conditions:Very wet and muddy first 2.8 miles. Several blowdowns to go over, under or around. Two small sections of unavoidable snow, one at 3000ft, and the other at 3200ft.
Comments: Overcast with good views, very windy and cold on top. Once we were out of the wind, on our way down, we sat for about an hour and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Saw only one other hiker the whole day. Just a great day to spend in the Maine woods.
