Greetings All,

I am a 45'er and only need Mt. Allen. We failed at a summit of Allen this past July due to torrential overnight rains that halte us in our tracks across the second water crossing.

Anyway...we are going for this on Apr 5 and the loaded question is does anhyone have any thoughts as to what high water conidtions may exist at that time exclusding of course heavy rains just prior to our trip. If anyone likes, they are also welcome to email me at [email protected].

I can't wait to finsh my 46!!!

Happy & safe hiking to all!

allen in the spring

Kelly and I did this hike last year around the same time and the river had ice jammed and flooded the trail. We walked through a foot to two feet of water in some places to get through. No matter how good your gaiters and gore-tex layers are, the water soaks through. Also, we managed to fall through a lot of the soft snow up the slide. It is definitely doable with some perseverance and putting up with cold feet :)
