It was my first time hiking in the Daks plus I had my family with me, so I wanted to find a hike that I thought would be suitable for a 4 year old. This hike offered just that. It was challenging enough and the payoff was some beautiful views from the ledges. This hike reminded me of hikes in N.H. like Mount Potash and Welch-Dickey. In other words, lot of bang for little bucks. I might add that the trail work was excellent.
I liked the Adirondack Loj. It was a nice place to learn about the history of the Daks and pick up other trails.
Here again, this was my first time hiking in the Adirondacks but it won't be my last. If anyone is looking for a hike in the Adirondacks to take a young child on, I would highly suggest Mt. Jo.
