Trails: Mt. Meader Trail, Brickett Falls Spur, Meader Ridge Trail
This was a scouting hike to check out conditions on Meader Ridge Trail. Found variable conditions down low, snow from the start, leading to dry and wet sections of bare trail, leading to more snow. Rinse and repeat. I barebooted most of the lower sections, as the on and off with the snowshoes game wasn't going to happen. To those who don't like postholes, I'm sorry for the ones I did make, but trust me, they're fleeting. I wore snowshoes from after the last crossing, to the ridge, and back, postholing in them at times. Lots of snow (2 feet) still on the ridge, and above ~2200 feet in general. Decided not to trudge the 0.2 to the true, viewless, summit of Meader, and descended the way I came. Visited Brickett Falls on the way in (and out), they were very nice, and would be a good spot to visit on a hot summer day. A good workout, and it was nice to see bare trails!
The full report and pictures, are HERE.
Cheers!
