Date of Hike: March 21, 2014
Trail Conditions: All trails were broken out and fairly packed down, especially the Mt Tecumseh Trail. Part of the trail was skied hard, shredded. Many folks where either sledding on the trail or barebooting it (a random posthole here and there). There was evidence of primarily snowshoe use. And the trail now has ski tracks on it. Both crossings were fully bridged. The Sosman Trail was also broken out by a single snowshoe track (we just had to check it out). No blowdowns anywhere. Crusty snow down low, sweet powder up high.
Special Equipment Used: We brought trekking poles, one with snowshoes/alpine skis and boots carried, one (me) with AT skis with skins, and microspikes. The latter we never used.
Comments: Hiked this one with Steff on my day off. Nice to hike for fun now and then. Especially when I get to skin up and ski down on my AT gear. Still grinning from the experience.
