Either First ones on trail or wind blown snow covered trail. Bare booted for first hour, post-holing too deep, entire leg on one, so we darned snow shoes. A lone hiker past us and lead the way for the remainder of the day, did not see him again. Very soft deep drifts on A-Z trail. Views a-top all Mt’s spectacular. Willey Range Trail very difficult, deep snow and low hanging ice covered spruce trees made the 0.9 mile very difficult. The lone hiker in front of us did an awesome job of breaking trail on this trail!!! Saw several other small groups on the Avalon trail.

Special equipment, Snow shoes on the A-Z trail, most other trail now broken out well enough where they are bare bootable. Short legs and no ice axe sticking up from your pack.

Thanks Claude and Chris for outstanding company and an awesome day in the whites!!

p.s. no one told the whites it is spring yet, low teens Friday night and high teens to low twenties through out the day, wind was not too bad, sounded much worst than it was. Defiantly still winter conditions!!!
