Date of hike: 7/3

Parking: We parked on the Caribou Valley Road. We had to park 1.5 miles from the trailhead because of the low clearance on our car. 4X4's had no problem making it to the metal bridge 0.5 miles from the trailhead.

Comments: The trail was very wet and muddy for the first 3/4 of a mile. Once we were past the camping area the trail got steeper and drier. We had no views today. It was overcast with a light mist all morning. We met a through hiker who had left from Georgia in March. His trail name was Sunny. Hopefully he will be bringing some sun up this way for us to enjoy. The section of trail from S. Crocker to N. Crocker was in excellent condition. On our way back down to CVR we had a steady rain for the first mile. After that, we saw the first signs of sun all day. We had blue skies and bright sun for our 1.5 mile walk back up the CVR to our car. The trail was very busy today. We saw a total of 16 hikers. We also saw a bear while driving back to the main road.
