Well, I just told Kelty how to run their buisness. This year for winter I purchased a Quartz1 solo. Great WINTER tent, though its not a 4 season I sweat just thinking about using that thing in July! Ive decided that for summer Im going all mesh this year. I wouldnt use a tent at all if it werent for the bugs. So basically I explained why they need to make a full mesh version of the Quartz1 before May or Im going to the competition. I really hope they listen, that way Ill get the tent I want, and get to brag that it was my idea.
I know there are plenty of options out there. Ive narrowed it down to a few choices but modularity is the way to go. Full on tent for winter, all mesh for summer with the same fly for both and just the footprint and fly for rain above treeline-that is if sleeping above treeline was allowed of course!
