Mt Kinsman Trail to Bald peak is snow free. From there to about 3000 ft has some trace snow and ice. At 3000 ft the monorail starts. We tried m-spikes and quickly switched to snowshoes. The monorail is soft and unstable all the way to the ridge. The Kinsman Ridge Trail is a mix of bare ground and a bit more stable rail. South Kinsman is bare. Both trails have several blow downs but on the way out we met the trail adopter who was doing a great job on the water bars and clearing some of the blowdowns. We thanked him for his work. Some bugs out down low. Also some wildflowers between the shack and the first water crossing. The weather was much nicer than predicted.
