Date of Hike: 12/6/10

Trail Conditions: Some mud on flat section and lower portion next to brook. 5" powder down low, 12+" near treeline. Icy rocks near and above treeline. 2 or 3 blowdowns easily circumnavigated.

Special Equipment Required: Microspikes used for entire hike, at least that much traction is required. Crampons necessary above treeline. Above ~4200, snowshoes will probably be needed very soon. Got away without them today.


Comments: Snow is extremely low density and east to walk in. Ridgeline conditions were extreme today. Winds close to 70mph with snow. Trail very easy to follow despite lack of blazes.
