trails: percy loop trail, percy peaks trail, old summer club trail, herd path

conditions: parking off of nash stream road just across the bridge from the trailhead. trail was dry to start until a couple of passing showers on the ascent made things wet and somewhat slick. the ledges on north percy had mostly dried by the time we got up there and provided good footing to the summit. picked up the old summer club trail in the col and quickly came to the herd path to south percy which branches off to the right in a somewhat grassy open area. some wet slippery footing, but generally good going. one large trail blocking blowdown and a couple of other minor ones early then just occasionally brushy up to the summit. on the descent we cleared numerous blowdowns on the percy loop trail. black flies became obnoxious on the descent if standing still.

equipment: nothing in particular.

comments: my first time on these peaks. really nice. the open ledge on north percy is quite impressive with great views in all directions from the summit. south was nice as well with a great look back to north percy. pretty hot in the afternoon, but the passing rain showers cooled things down a bit along with a nice breeze on the summits. thanks to jeremy for a nice hike.
