We parked at the lot for North Mountain Trail, took it up and over North Peak, descended to Round Pond, South Ridge Trail to South Peak, descended then bushwhacked up the southeast slope of Middle Peak (Hepatica, email me for location) and bushwhacked down from the outlook, not without difficulty, to the short road walk back to the car. All trails had many blowdowns, mostly smaller trees. We removed what we could. Not much mud and only a few snow patches left.

Great hike in mostly open woods. Nice views of all sorts, from distant peaks to the many rock formations. Loop trip circumnavigates the ring dike in about 7 miles, highly recommended (except the latter bushwhack
). Always a pleasure to hike with Gary, thankfully softened up by an 8 mile run yesterday.
