Trails: Hancock Notch, Cedar Brook Hancock Loop

Special Equipment: Light traction, poles, snowshoes?

Trail Conditions / Comments: Everything is broken out and packed down. We wore micro-spikes from the car to car although light snowshoes with elevators could have been useful on the steep ascent. The day started off sunny and 36 degrees but clouded up as the day went on. We hiked into the clouds on both summits and experienced limited views. The water crossings are all passable and a lot of snow bridges are started to decay due to warmer & wet weather. Overall trails are fine this time of year because of earlier snow but there is a need for some powder is some areas. Some slush lower down. On the steep descent, you could have slid but risk hitting an exposed rock or root so we micro-spiked down holding a tree or two. No blowndowns to speak off, relatively clear all the way. Great to hike with Dave & Dan again.
