the quote 2nd hardest day hike in US was from article in backpacker about 5 years ago. Their definition was 1 calander day, marked trails, regular route that sort of stuff.
the ADK's great range from rooster comb to marcy and the garden was # 3,
the presi was only mentioned as a clasic hike but not top ten hardest.
