Date of Hike: 10/3/10

Trail Conditions: Road walk section in great shape. Some water in the numerous culverts. The woods trail has many blow downs. All can be climbed over, crawled under or walked around. Lots of mud and puddles in the birch woods section. Parts of the trail overgrown and hard to follow.

Special Equipment Required: Bring a camera for the fantastic view from Mt. Eastman. Bugs were not a problem for the entire hike.

Comments: The culverts on the road get rather annoying after a while. Some are deeper than others and a few have water flowing through them. This trail is a very easy way to summit Mt. Eastman. It's a beautiful walk in the woods that almost feels like cheating to reach a mountain summit. I wish I lived closer to the area to adopt this trail. It could really use some maintenance It's a great hike. Our round trip, including an hour on the summit, was about 6 hours to hike 9.8 miles.
