We assembled at the Dartmouth Skiway and carpooled to small, muddy lot at the Lambert Ridge/Ranger trailhead.
We headed up the Lambert Ridge Trail which was well cleared and attractive. (Would have been nicer if the rain hadn't made the ledges slippery and obscured the views.) Lots of stuff in bloom including trout lily, hobblebush, white violets and trillium.
Made the summit about 12:30 in the rain, and didn't bother ascending the (quite tall) fire tower to see the "views". Lunch at the old ranger cabin a little further on.
Descended the Ranger Trail which was very wet and had lots of pesky blowdowns.
