On Tuesday 9/20/11 we drove down the Penobscot Indian land road to the large boulders and parked.
We took the snowmobile trail to the pond where the trails were very muddy. We found the sign for the turn up and followed surveyors tape to the summit.
There was some blow down but the tape kept you on the trail. There was a nice re-route away from a nasty drop off that will soon turn into the trail.
No special equipment was needed.
It had rained the night before so the trail near the pond was really bad. There was a nice cloud around the pond. The tower on top needs lots of work. It is in pieces on the ground. The summit sign in box was fairly new. 94/100
