South Pack Monadnock-Wapack-Auto Road- VFTT Sticker Sighting 2/18/13

Did a quick trip up the Wapack to test out the Hillsound trail crampon pros that I picked up for $19(returns) at EMS last week. Didn't really need them as I had to go out my way to find ice to test them on, but I really like how easy they are to put on and take off, and their traction was great!!!

The Wapack was well packed for the 1st half, then a little more powdery on the upper half, but no need for snow shoes. The auto road was very firmly packed and made for a fast trip down on my snow blades.

Saw a green Honda with a VFTT sticker on it when I was leaving, 1st one I've seen in a while.

That was me. I wore snowshoes the whole way - nice to have above the half-way point. Went over to North and back - about the Wildlife Refuge, the track stopped. Went up the Cliff Trail and down Wapack and chased a pair of bare-booters from North.
