Planning a canoe trip to Stillwater in early May and was wondering if anyone had some insights into good camping spots, fishing spots, or any other general knowledge that would be useful.

Ice-out is usually the third or fourth week of April, so prepare for COLD water. There are 40 some sites on Stillwater, and I think most of them are good. You do have to pick out a site and register on a board before you paddle in. I've stayed on sites on a bay that's about halfway up on the left (west) side, and have always liked that area. I don't fish, though. The Stillwater Inn has a website, but I don't know the address.

Thanks AIG. I don't think they'll be a whole lot of swimming going on, but at least the beers will be cold! I did a search and found the site (http://www.stillwaterreservoir.com). Its got a good map on it and some general info. Paddle on...
