Mt. Osceola and E. Osceola
Date: 10-12-13
Trail Conditions: There was a little mud near the col between Osceola and E. Osceola. Some sections of the trail have wet rocks but overall the trail is in GREAT SHAPE.
Special Equipment Required: None, but some people I saw didn't even have water bottles, wow...
Comments: I arrived at the parking lot close to 9:00 and I scored one of the last two proper spots in the lot. I saw one couple coming down off the summit during my initial ascent and passed about a dozen people before reaching the first summit in 1 hour 11 minutes. On my descent there were at least 100 people making a late start. No surprise, Tripoli road was a zoo but the swirling clouds around E. Osceola and infrequent openings in the cloud cover made for some dramatic scenes.
