Almost done with Mt Mansfield list: today we did South Link - trail in great shape, esy to follow - then hiked along Forehead Bypass and LT to the chin and beyond. Windy and partly overcast.

Down the LT to Adam's Apple Trail, thence to Hell Brook (the trail sign on the Hell Brook Trail: "Hell Brook Trail to VT 108 - straight down" - quite accurate. We'd done Hell Brook Trail up several years ago and it still has the characteristics that give it the name!) We hiked (straight) down to the Hell Brook Cutoff and climbed it back up to Taft Lodge. Much of the puncheon on Hell Brook Cutoff could use replacement. The cutoff is an easier trail than the Hell Brook Trail itself!

After lunch, a quick hike - also steep up - along Profanity Trail to the ridge. Trail in excellent shape and well-marked.

We've hiked ALL trails on Mansfield except Halfway House from CCC Road to Canyon during this year and last - almost all along the ridge during this summer. Kudos to the trail maintaners and caretakes - the whole mountain is in great shape and in great hands!
