We are proud to say we made it to the sumit on the first attempt. We headed down the Carrigan Notch Trail until we came to a big rock. Was this the boulder everyone mentions in there reports? We didn't see any obvious trail but headed in at a spot that looked good. The bushwhacking was pretty easy, but we were definately going up. We eventually came to a small ledge and were working right to go around but found it better to head left. And then we stumbled onto a "trail" at about 2900' elevation. It's a good thing we found this "trail" or we probably would have turned back. There are a LOT of blowdowns on this section and it took some very careful scouting to stay with the path. It took us 2 1/2 hours to do the bushwhack to the summit. We found the canister and signed the log, which was a little damp. I can say that there is no flagging any where that we went today. Cinder did a good job finding alternate routes on the real steep sections. The rock ledge section was a little scary as most of the rocks are loose. But there was no wind and some great views to be had from here today. Coming down from the summit we lost the path and did some more bushwacking. We came back to the trail in a different spot then where we started but it was a better whack on the way down. Total for the day 9.2 miles, 8 hours.
