Great day to get out and knock these peaks off my list. From where we parked, the old road was in pretty good shape, a bit wet and muddy in areas, but overall good walking. When you get to a spot where the road has grown in in front of you, look for the cairn in the grass at your feet, and then look for a log to your left with a small cairn on it. This is where you head off to Whitecap. Push through the brush to your left, and the herd path becomes evident almost immediately, and is easily followed all the way to the canister. Kennebago Divide on the other hand, requires a bit more work. We never were able to find the beginning of the herd path, but found it a ways along its length and followed it to the canister. If you're going to do this, stay on the ridge, and while you may lose the herd path at times, you'll never be too far from it.

#'s 60 and 61!

The full story is HERE.

Cheers,

Bill
