Plan was to ski Zealand Road to trailhead and then ski as far as possible, switch to snowshoes and continue on to Zealand Hut. The problem was that my left foot is just enough smaller than my right that it slips within the boot. I felt like if I continued, a blister would form that would cover the entirety of the ball of my foot so I went for plan B since I have hiking and skiing plans for most of next week. I took a lunch break, soaked in some rays and solitude and then skied out and drove over to check out the North Twin Trail for a bit. Well worth it. I didn't make it to the turn for the Fire Warden's Trail as I had hoped (I set a turnaround time and when I got to it...I turned around), but I did make it back to my car while the sky was still blue and filled with sunshine. All in all a great start to my February vacation. Bring it on! I plan to get back to school completely exhausted.
