I didn't take as many photos on this hike - too much interesting conversation on the way up and then the drizzle on the way back forced me to put my camera away. One of the reasons we enjoy leading hikes for the 3500 Club is having the opportunity to meet new like-minded hikers, and Sunday was...
This was Dick's and my first full-fledged winter snowshoe hike of the season, thanks to the recent snowstorm. Here are a few photos . Others took more pics than I so please add yours to the thread. Many thanks to amazing hiker Ralph for breaking trail all day. I would also like to get a...
And indeed it was a lovely day in the woods. This was Dick's and my first winter mountain hike of the season. We wore microspikes for the trip up to Indian Head but decided to practice using our crampons (first time used) from the summit to below the col where some ice flows were easily...

I enjoyed chatting with a number of VFTTers I hadn't met before and hiking with canine companions Caboodle and Baxter. Those blustery winds at the top reminded me that winter isn't too far away. Here are a few photos I managed during the day.
Congratulations Jay. Dick and I were so pleased that we were able to make your finish and get to meet some VFTTers in the flesh. What a day! The candy wrapper fortune says it all - "Keep looking forward - new adventures lie ahead."
