EMS Super Sweater Down Jacket

Anyone own this?

I just got one for Christmas.

I want something that will keep me warm on the coldest days. I like that it has 800 fill down and that I can fit a shell over it, but I wonder about its windblocking ability and whether it not having a hood is a bad thing.

If you are wearing it under a shell, then the wind-blocking ability doesn't matter that much as that's the shell's job. In fact, the more wind-blocking it is, the less it will dry out in a reasonable amount of time.

The lack of a hood is also a good thing as the shell will have a hood and will allow the use of a hat/balaclava/ear warmer under it and still have plenty of room. The hood on it would just get in the way more and limit your options.
